Blake and the Clippers

The Clippers started out the week on a rough note loosing to Milwaukee by the score of 102-78.  The leading scorer for the Bucks was Delfino with 26 points and 9 rebounds.  The leading scorer for the Clippers was Baron Davis with 22 points and 6 assists.  The second game of the week was against Minnesota and they were able to pull out a win 98-90.  Blake Griffin was the high scorer for the Clippers with 29 points and 8 rebounds.  Kevin Love had a double double once again with 18 points and 18 rebounds.

This week the Clippers had a tough schedule traveling to 3 out of the 4 teams they played.  The Clippers were not able to win any of these four games this week.  First loosing to the Oklahoma City Thunder 111-88.  Blake Griffin was the leading scorer for the Clippers with 28 points and 11 rebounds.  The leading scorer for the Thunder was Green with 22 points and 9 rebounds.  The second game was against the New Orleans Hornets, the leading scorer for the Clippers was once again Blake Griffin with 21 points and 13 rebounds.  The leader for the Hornets was the All-Star point guard Chris Paul with 19 points 10 assists.  The score was 98-87 Hornets.  The third game was against the Lakers, the score was 108-95.  The leading scorer for the Lakers was Pau Gasol with 22 points 5 rebounds, the leader for the Clippers was Foye with 24 points and 3 rebounds.  The fourth and final game of this dreadful week was against the Boston Celtics in Los Angeles, the Clippers lost by the score of 99-92.  Paul Pierce was the leader for the Celtics with 24 points and 5 rebounds, Foye was the leader for the Clippers with 32 points 7 assists.

It was a rough week with no wins, they are far from their goal of having a 50% win to lose record.  If they play well and keep playing together they could reach it by playoff time.  They only have one game this week and it is against the Sacramento Kings on Monday.  The Kings record is 14-43 which is very bad, hopefully the Clippers will be able to pull out a win this week and head into March on a positive note.

The Clipps

The Clippers were only able to pull 1 win away over the week , they played five.  It was a tough week for them playing some really tough teams.  They lost to Orlando by the score of 101-85 the top scorer for the Magic was Dwight Howard with 22 points and 20 rebounds, the leader for the Clippers was Baron Davis with 25 points and 8 rebounds.  The next game was against the Knicks and they were able to get a win 116-108.  The leader for the Clippers was again Baron Davis with 16 points 16 assists, the leader for the Knicks was Amare Stoudermire with 23 points 5 rebounds.  The third game on the road trip was against the Cavaliers, they won in overtime 126-119.  The leading scorer for the Cavs was Andre Jameson with 35 points 9 rebounds, the leader for the Clippers was Blake Griffin with 32 points and 13 rebounds.  The last game they played was Toronto and lost 98-93, the leading scorer for the Raptors was Davis with 14 points and 13 rebounds, the leader for the Clippers was once again Blake Griffin with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

They have a short week with games only two, they go to Milwaukee and go to Minnesota to play the Wolves.  The Milwaukee Bucks record is 20-33, they are not much better than the Clippers so I am hoping that they are going to be able to win.  The Wolves record is 13-41 and they are not very good at all, but Kevin Love plays on their team so they are very dangerous.  The Clippers record is 20-34 and they are still in the hunt for the playoffs and they can make a run.

Clippers Shinning in the NBA

The Clippers over the weekend had some tough lost, they went 0-3 this week.  Loosing to the 34-14 Bulls on last Wednesday by the score of 106-88.  The Clippers leading scorer was Blake Griffin with 32 points 13 rebounds and 7 assists.  The leading scorer for the Bulls was Derrick Rose with 32 points 3 rebounds and 11 assists.  The second loss coming in a last second shot by the Hawks, the Clippers go down 101-100.  The Clippers main scorer was Baron Davis with 22 points 4 rebounds and 13 assists, the main scorer for the Hawks was Jamal Crawford with 34 points and 5 steals.  It was a very good game and extremely close down to the wire.  The third loss was to the Miami Heat, the team with the 3rd best record in the league.  They lost 97-79, the leading scorer for the Clippers was Blake Griffin with 21 points and 16 rebounds.  The leader for the Heat was Dwayne Wade with 28 points and 8 rebounds.

The Clippers have four games in the upcoming week against the Orlando Wizards, New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Toronto Rapters.  Orlando and the Knicks will probably be the hardest teams this week, but if the Clippers keep playing like they have been the week could look promising.  News inside Clipper nation is that Blake Griffin has officially been inducted into the NBA All-Star game.   The Clippers record now is 19-31, which puts them 4th in the Pacific and still a threat to be in the playoffs and to make a run.  Blake Griffin is still leading the team with his great work ethic and playing extremely well. There has only been 4 rookies to ever make into the All-Star game, Micheal Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Blake Griffin.  So he joins a group of elite and select few men.

Next weeks schedule for the Clippers is going to be difficult for them with the Chicago Bulls coming to L.A. with the record of 33-14, then the Clippers head to Atlanta in a very difficult game the Hawks record is 33-18.  They are a very solid team and it will be a very tough game and a good challenge for the young L.A. Clippers.
